Clearfield MMG

Clearfield MMG accepts non-hazardous soils and other industrial waste, which may be contaminated with virgin and non-virgin petroleum products. The Chesapeake facility also accepts non-hazardous sludges, which frequently include tank bottoms, car wash/OWS sludges and numerous industrial and manufacturing process wastes.

The facilities will not accept municipal waste or those materials that are classified as hazardous, explosive or infectious.

Prior to the receipt of any material, customers must complete a Material Characterization Form and return it to the office for approval. Lab analysis, if available, should be submitted at this time. The requested lab parameters for each type of material are listed below.

  • Customers delivering material containing virgin petroleum contaminants (unused motor oil, unused hydraulic oil, gasoline, diesel fuel, etc) must furnish lab analysis for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) using EPA SW method 5035/8015. If the customer cannot furnish this analysis prior to delivery, Clearfield will perform the analysis upon receipt.

  • Customers delivering material containing non-virgin petroleum contaminants (used motor oil, used hydraulic oil) or any unknown contaminants must furnish lab analysis for the following parameters:

Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) by EPA SW-846 method 5035 / 8015

BTEX by EPA SW-846 method 8021B

Extractable Organic Halogens (EOX) by EPA method 9020M

             TCLP Metals or Total Metals

Please collect at least one representative sample from each project location.

Once the material is approved for receipt at any of our facilities, Clearfield will prepare a Non-Hazardous Shipping Manifest or similar document. We will deliver these documents to your office, job site or other location as needed to facilitate the disposal process.

Acceptance Forms

Prior to the receipt of any material, the generator must complete the Material Characterization Form and certify that the material to be disposed is non-hazardous.  This form also provides important information, which better enables Clearfield to furnish accurate shipping and subsequent certification documents.

If you have any questions regarding the Material Characterization Form, please do not hesitate to contact our office for assistance.

When complete, kindly return the Material Characterization Form to our office for prompt approval.  If lab analysis is required, please forward this data at the same time.
