Clearfield MMG accepts non-hazardous soils and other industrial waste, which may be contaminated with virgin and non-virgin petroleum products. The Chesapeake facility also accepts non-hazardous sludges, which frequently include tank bottoms, car wash/OWS sludges and numerous industrial and manufacturing process wastes. The facilities will not accept municipal waste or those materials that are classified as hazardous, explosive or infectious. Prior to the receipt of any material, customers must complete a Material Characterization Form and return it to the office for approval. Lab analysis, if available, should be submitted at this time. The requested lab parameters for each type of material are listed below.
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) by EPA SW-846 method 5035 / 8015 BTEX by EPA SW-846 method 8021B Extractable Organic Halogens (EOX) by EPA method 9020M TCLP Metals or Total Metals Please collect at least one representative sample from each project location. Once the material is approved for receipt at any of our facilities, Clearfield will prepare a Non-Hazardous Shipping Manifest or similar document. We will deliver these documents to your office, job site or other location as needed to facilitate the disposal process.
